The half-day trip was short, yet rich in content. The optical principles from textbooks came to life here, the craftsmanship of a local enterprise was within reach, and the warmth of parent-child companionship quietly flowed through the exploration.
On the afternoon of August 22, the parent-child research activity "First Experience of a Career, Childlike Hearts Exploring the Future," hosted by the Niansha Community, kicked off as scheduled. Over twenty parent-child families from the community walked into Kunshan Soohow Instrument Co., Ltd., embarking on a unique journey of technological exploration.



"Welcome students to Soohow Instrument. We are an enterprise focused on the R&D and manufacturing of precision spectroscopic analyzers," warmly addressed Li Yuquan, Vice President of the company, at the opening ceremony. Using "prism dispersion" as an example, he vividly revealed the scientific mystery of white light splitting into a rainbow, instantly igniting the children's curiosity.


Subsequently, led by professional engineers, the parent-child families orderly toured the R&D laboratory, precision assembly workshop, and instrument testing laboratory. Through the engineers' easy-to-understand explanations, the children intuitively witnessed the entire process of a precision instrument, from blueprint design and part polishing to assembly and debugging, deeply feeling the craftsmanship spirit of "rigor, patience, and continuous exploration" behind technological R&D.、


At the end of the activity, the engineer demonstrated a wonderful prism dispersion experiment on-site. When a beam of white light refracted through the prism into a brilliant spectrum, the children let out bursts of amazement, intuitively understanding the scientific principle of "using spectral analysis to determine material composition" through naked-eye observation.


The half-day research study was full of substantive content. This community-enterprise collaboration not only allowed the children to step out of textbooks and into real scenes, perceiving the immense power of technology around them, but also planted seeds of love for science and courage to explore in their young hearts. They may not fully understand the complex algorithms behind the precision instruments, but they have seen with their own eyes how blueprints turn into real equipment, and have personally touched that craftsmanship spirit of "rigor, patience, and continuous exploration."
