On May 15, 2025, Professor Zhang Xianmin from the College of Information Science & Electronic Engineering at Zhejiang University and Vice President of Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology visited Kunshan Soohow Instruments Co., Ltd. ("Soohow Instruments") for technical exchange and collaboration guidance. The visit focused on industry-academia-research cooperation in microwave photonics and experimental analytical instruments, with in-depth discussions on technological integration and innovative applications.
Prof. Zhang, a leading expert in microwave photonics, radio frequency signal processing, and optoelectronic integration, has spearheaded multiple national key R&D programs and NSFC projects, achieving breakthroughs in photon-assisted communication and terahertz technology. During the visit, Prof. Zhang toured Soohow Instruments' R&D center and intelligent production facilities, examining core products such as the OIL8000H oil spectral analyzer and FS500 direct-reading spectrometer. These instruments, which employ rotating disk electrode atomic emission spectroscopy technology, have replaced imported equipment and are used by industry leaders including China Railway Engineering Group and XCMG.
Prof. Zhang commended Soohow Instruments' technological expertise and innovation model, proposing deeper integration of optoelectronic technologies with spectral detection to explore synergistic innovation in high-frequency communication and material analysis. Both parties reached preliminary consensus on joint provincial research project applications and the establishment of a joint optoelectronic testing laboratory, aiming to advance the localization of high-end analytical instruments.
This collaboration marks a significant step in Soohow Instruments' integration of industry-academia-research resources, injecting academic strength and innovation momentum into its development.
